# Upgrade

## Joe v2 to Kava v3

### Installation

Uninstall Joe

```
npm uninstall --save-dev joe joe-reporter-console joe-reporter-list
```

Install Kava

```
npm install --save-dev kava
```

### Usage

Change your usage from

```javascript
const joe = require('joe')
joe.suite('suite name', function (suite, test) {
    // ...
})
```

To the kava usage

```javascript
const kava = require('kava')
kava.suite('suite name', function (suite, test) {
    // ...
})
```

### Run

You no longer need to specify the reporter with Kava.

So remove the `--joe-reporter=console` or `env JOE_REPORTER=console` or the like from your test script.
